  17. Rich, I had the same feeling.  I did decide to do the upgrade and
  18. there are pros and cons.  I upgraded to the 1.40 firmware.  My
  19. connections are definitely more consistant and usually at a higher
  20. rate.  The big negative from my view is that I have become so
  21. accustomed to identifying a logon by its sound that it drives me nuts
  22. now that it is silent in Win95.  The documentation says that they
  23. disabled the modem dial/connect sound only in the Win 95 software.

  25. Other than that annoyance the firmware was a ggod choice.  Check out
  26. the Page www.cardtech.com for some further info before you make your
  27. choice.
